This is a gorgeous hand-painted Italian ceramic jug. The hand painted design is 'Corallo' which is Italian for 'Coral'. The design name is so called due to the use of 'Coral Red'. It also features yellow fruit and green foliage.
On the base of the jar the artist has inscribed by hand the where the jar has been made and painted. 'MOD' stands for 'Majolica of Deruta' and below it is 'Deruta, Italy' followed by 'Dip. A Mano', which translates from Italian to 'Painted by Hand'.
The jar measures 210mm in height and and 160mm in diameter. The volumetric capacity of the jug is just under 2 litres.
