This is a gorgeous hand-painted Italian ceramic Biscotti jar with lid.  The design includes a variety of flowers and fruit including grapes and cherries and of course the label 'Biscotti' on the front of the jar.  On each side there is a lion's head with a green ring below it.  The lid features a matching design and has a convenient handle on top.

On the base of the jar the artist has inscribed by hand the where the jar has been made and painted.  'MOD' stands for 'Majolica of Deruta' and below it is 'Deruta, Italy' followed by 'Dip. A Mano', which translates from Italian to 'Painted by Hand'.
